Canadian consumer informs the Canola Council of decision to avoid Canadian canola because of GMO concerns Dear Canola Council of Canada: I just want to let you know that I am absolutely opposed to the human consumption of genetically engineered foods. I and my household have stopped using canola oil and we inspect the labels of breads and other foodstuffs for canola oil because we have no way of knowing whether or not it is genetically engineered. Furthermore, on an ongoing basis we continue to inform our friends and contacts about the possible dangers of eating genetically engineered foods such as canola. We used to take pride in the fact that canola was developed in Canada. Now we refuse to eat it and feel only disgust at the heavy handed way in which genetically mutated foods are being forced into the diets of Canadians.
