Minnesota Global presents: GMOs and Your Health
    December 2, 2003 -- 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Minnesota Global, an ongoing series examining the impacts of globalization on Minnesota, presents Drs. Árpád Pusztai, Susan Bardócz and Charles Benbrook for "GMOs and Your Health." Dr. Pusztai's research findings indicated that a genetically engineered potato diet weakened rats' immune systems and adversely affected the animals' internal organs. When he shared his findings with the media (with his superior's permission), Dr. Pusztai was promptly fired from his research post.

Hear the whole story and the details of his research on Tues., Dec. 2 from 5:30–7 p.m. Visit the Minnesota Global site for information and complete archives of past events.

Unable to make it? Minnesota Global also broadcasts live over the Internet (requires RealPlayer).

is a private foundation established March 5 1998, with office address in Tromsö, Norway. The foundation has the following aims:

    1. To perform research, distribute information and offer advice with regard to natural processes, which may represent risks and hazards for ecosystems and public health in the context of genetic engineering applications.
    2. To develop methods for risk assessment and management in relation to the presence of genetically modified organisms (GMO), viruses (GMV), and gene constructions in ecosystems, nutritional chains food and feed etc.
